Mad Hatter Reviews

The most delicious tea service my family and I have ever had! We just had the Mother’s Day tea this afternoon and I have never been more impressed by taste, presentation, and service. Years ago we had a high tea service in England at a very swanky hotel (highly recommended in all the books), and the Mad Hatter Restaurant & Tea Room has far better food than that one (no contest, this one is the best). We had the chocolate bourbon tea (best.tea.ever!!!) and the royal wedding tea (in honor of little Archie’s birth) and both were delicious.
We ate everything served (including the cucumber sandwiches and I normally don’t like cucumber) and everything was more delicious than the last. We also ordered their sparkling bubbly (a sparkling rose wine) and it was very tasty. My mom loved the whole service. Thank you so much for making this Mother’s Day so extra special! From start to finish this was a tea to remember!!

What a great experience! We attended a bridal shower here and I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was amazing and were so kind to the children in attendance, even though at first glance this venue seems like a terrible idea for small children (Hot tea! Breakable China!). The kids got a beautiful plate of food and fancy milk and cookies.
The adult food was amazing. I can’t stop thinking about the cream scones with lemon curd! The finger sandwiches/nibbles appeared small but were beautiful and packed with flavor. I left full!!!!
The tea was also an interesting experience. Having the chance to try several types of tea was exciting, and while I would never have pegged myself as a tea drinker, I really loved the Snowflake tea. Later in the gift shop, smelling the loose leaves I realized I would never have chosen it based on smell alone, but trying it in the restaurant it was my favorite.
I wish we were local so I could have dinner here, as well as experience more of the tea choices. Truly a lovely venue!!!!

Great selection of tea, scones, etc. and it’s a beautiful setting. Perfect ambiance for a relaxing dinner. Prices can be a little high, but the quality is on par. They don’t rush you out the door, and take their time in between things so you can enjoy the company you’re with, or take in the atmosphere.

We had a large group and we were able to have a private room. The menu is quite amazing with so many delicious options you don’t find every day. Everyone loved what they ordered. The service was great and the home is beautiful. I would highly recommend.

Food and service are amazing. Our favorite Anniversary dinner spot! The grounds are beautiful, the atmosphere is great. The food is fresh, my boyfriend commented how the vegetables tasted so fresh they likely came out of the ground that morning!
We LOVE everything about this place.

This is a throwback must try! The coconut almond tea was so amazing that I bought some to being home. I also bought a cup so I could remember it! Often, tea rooms don’t offer healthy alternatives but this one did! They even had gluten free buns for their delicious burger! Everyone at our table seemed to really enjoy their food! If I were within 50 miles, I would definitely treat myself to this quaint little place again!

This is such a lovely tea room and restaurant! It’s a special treat coming here with in-laws, my mom, or a girlfriend. It’s fun dressing up for this place too! I definitely recommend getting reservations, especially on the weekends, even if just for 2 people.
Love the vintage romantic decor/Alice in Wonderland theme.
I’ve tried the Creme Brule (sweet but not too sweet) and Royal Wedding (fruity) teas. The first time I came here it was such a pleasant surprise that not only did they have a nice tea selection/tea service and desserts, but a solid dine in menu. They also have a dinner menu on the weekends that I have not tried yet, but the menu selection looks pretty limited.
For lunch today I ordered the Thai Turkey Burger with Chicken Wild Rice Soup. My mom ordered the Chicken Tenders and Waffles and we split a HUGE cinnamon roll. I’m talking about the biggest cinnamon roll I have ever seen- it came out with a soft, buttery glaze and drizzled with caramel- yum! The slaw with the turkey burger was sweet and acidic and crunchy, then on top of that with the peanut sauce, I was loving every bite! We shared a pot of the Royal Wedding Tea and thoroughly enjoyed it, we each got 3-4 cups each. Our server was very prompt and attentive. Check out the cute gift shop on the second floor!

Growing up near Anoka, I would always drive past the beautiful house on the hill on the river. I’ve always wanted to see the home and what it once was! When my family and I found out that the Mad Hatter restored the home to its original beauty, we HAD to go check it out.
We dined in on a Sunday morning. I did make a reservation a few weeks out (it was my Mom’s birthday) to ensure we would get a table! I would highly recommend making a reservation! We were seated in one of the rooms with a beautiful chandelier. Every table was set with white linens. My favorite part was the menu featured the history of the home and how it had been a center of the city since it was first built.
We all ordered coffee and split the cinnamon roll. It had an amazing frosting on top that melted in your mouth. For my main dish, I order the pulled pork French toast. The presentation was beautiful and the sweetness of the French toast complemented the savory pulled pork. It was excellent.
I’m not into tea, but watching the cute teapots and platters come out with bit-sized scones and food made me want to experience a tea party for the first time!

Such a wonderful dining experience. Their tea is fantastic and so is there dine in service. Can’t wait to do a birthday party here when my little girl is older.

We live not far from here and have always wanted to try it. What a fun, quaint place to dine. Very good food and delightful atmosphere. A little diamond in the rough.

Food and tea were absolutely delicious! Great restaurant theme and view. Sat outside on the patio overlooking nature. Great place to go with the girls or for mother-daughter bonding time. Would recommend the crab cake tweedle puff!

Love the mad hatter. Tea is wonderful, the atmosphere is fun and food is exceptional. Love the risotto du jour. I would like to see them add different iced tea options, but the 1 they do offer is excellent. The gift shop upstairs is a must, too!
