China Donation Process

How to donate your china to the Mad Hatter

We love accepting china donations, and are so grateful that you chose us to enjoy your treasures. We do have some guidelines for accepting donations.  Please read through our guidelines prior to coming in.  They are as follows;

All items must be in good condition with no chips or cracks, must be clean, and be china we can use in the restaurant.

We accept;

  • Teacups with matching saucers
  • Teapots
  • China service ware, except large platters, bowls, etc.

We do not accept any other items for donation.  To help us out, we ask that you go through your donation prior to arriving to ensure it has only the items we accept.  We really do appreciate your help in this!

Our process;

When you arrive with your donation we will have you fill out a china donation form.  After completing the form you are free to go or stay and join us for Lunch!

After hours we will assess your donation and mail you a gift card.

We use the following guidelines to determine your gift card dollar amount;

Teacup with matching saucer $3.00

Teapot $5.00

4″- 8″ plates $1.00

Creamer $3.00

Sugar bowl with lid $3.00

Small bowls $1.00

*Maximum gift card to guest is $25.00

Other frequently asked questions;

Do I need an appointment to drop off my donation?

You do not need an appointment.  We ask that you drop off your donation during regular business hours. Preferably early in the day or later in the day.

Will you return any pieces you can not use to me?

Any china we cannot use we will donate. We will not keep the china for you to pick up at a later time, so be sure that you are okay parting with your treasures.

Can I wait while you go through my donation?

With a bustling business we are not able to go through donations while you wait.  We do all assessments after hours.

Thank you for thinking of The Mad Hatter!
